Faux Silk Technique

Hey there stampers! How are you?  Thanks for stopping by today!
Today's card is one we did at my technique class yesterday demonstrating the faux silk technique.  Super simple and really nice looking.

STEPS:

  1. Start with a Mellow Moss card base.  Take a piece of tissue paper (the kind you use in gift bags) cut a little larger than 4 x 5 1/4 and stamp the leaf image from the Embrace Life stamp set randomly in Jet Black Stazon ink.  Color in with the Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Marker.  Crumple it up, carefully uncrumple and crumple it up again to get it good and wrinkly. :)
  2. Take a piece of Whisper White card stock cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 and cover with glue stick-make sure it is totally covered but not lumpy.  Uncrumple and adhere the tissue paper over it and smooth out some but not all of the wrinkles.  Add to a mat of Basic Black card stock cut at 4 x 5 1/4.
  3. Add ribbon (mine from a craft store)across tissue covered piece and adhere to card base.
  4. Stamp flower from Embrace Life stamp set, color and cut out.  I used Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose.  Add half pearl from the Pretties Kit with a Mini Glue Dot to center of flower and adhere to card.
  5. Stamp sentiment from Pocket Silhouettes stamp set in Basic Black on Whisper White and punch with Word Window.  Add to Mellow Moss punched with Modern Label Punch then onto Basic Black punched with Designer Label with a 1" Circle of Whisper White in the center.  Add to card.

INGREDIENTS:

  • STAMPS: Embrace Life, Pocket Silhouettes
  • INK: Jet Black Stazon, Stampin' Write Markers
  • PAPER: Basic Black, Whisper White, Mellow Moss
  • ACCESSORIES:  Ribbon, Half Pearl, Mini Glue Dots, Tissue Paper, Glue Stick
  • TOOLS: Word Window Punch, Modern and Designer Label Punches, 1" Circle Punch

Another Halloween Treat Holder

Hey there stampers! Today is my first Technique Class of hopefully many so wish me luck!

As you can tell I've been on a roll with my Halloween cards and treat holders.  I am trying to come up with my Halloween Stamp camp projects and these have been getting me into the Halloween mood.  Although with temperatures here in the high 90's it's hard to really be in the mood for anything except a Margarita by the pool!
Today's project is exactly the same as the one I did a few days ago except I used Old Olive for the Scallop Envelope Box and used the skull image from the Batty for You stamp set.

INGREDIENTS:

  • STAMPS: Batty for You
  • INK: Basic Black, Old Olive
  • PAPER: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Cast-a-Spell DSP, Whisper White
  • ACCESSORIES: Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon
  • TOOLS: 1", 1 1/4" , 1 3/8" and Scallop Circle Punches, Scallop Envelope Die

I'm so glad you stopped by today!

Today's card is one we made at my last workshop using the treat cups and Sweet Centers stamp set.

STEPS:

  1. Start with a Basic Black card stock base, add a panel of Cast-A-Spell DSP cut at 4 x 4.

  3. Fill Treat Cup with confetti, peel adhesive off and add the punched out circle from earlier.  Carefully line up wording on halloween image and treat cup wording (showing through from behind) and adhere to card.
  4. Punch a small sliver out of fold of card base with the 1/8" Circle Punch and add Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon through.  Tie in knot and add other ribbon for interest.

CD Envelope Shaker Card

Hey there stampers! Happy Saturday!
Today's card is one I made last year.  I had a million CD envelopes and wanted to do something with them and this is what I came up with!

STEPS:

  1. Cut open your CD envelope down both sides right on the very edge.  Stamp the stars from A Haunting Halloween all over front and around the witch kitty on the inside of the CD Envelope.  Color in with Stampin' Write Markers.
  2. Adhere the side strips of a sheet of Dimensionals all around the window of the CD Envelope creating a pocket for your glitter and confetti.  Add confetti and glitter and adhere closed.
  3. Adhere CD Envelope to a card base of Pumpkin Pie cut just bigger than your envelope.  Add Phot Corners punched out of Lavender Lace card stock and stamp the sentiment in Basic Black on Whisper white and mat of Lavender Lace.  Add to card.

INGREDIENTS:

  • STAMPS: A Haunting Halloween
  • INK: Basic Black, Stampin' Write Markers
  • PAPER: Lavender Lace, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie

    Frankenstein Post-It Note Holder

Hey there stampers! Thanks for stopping by!  We had a great time last night at Allison's workshop!  I'll show you what we made this week. :)
Today I am going to show you a Post-It Note Holder that I made using my Bind-It-All machine, Stampin' Up Punches and card stock!  Isn't he cute?!

    STEPS:

    1. Cover two square chipboard pieces (in this case I covered a couple of coasters I got from a local restaurant-with permission!).  I covered them with Old Olive card stock and used a Sanding Block to smooth out the edges.
    2. Take a piece of Basic Black card stock and cut it to make hair and adhere to top of front coaster.
    3. Bind your coasters with the Bind-It-All machine or if you don't have one you could punch holes with the Cropadile and add ribbon.
    4. Using the 3/4" Circle Punch punch 2 Whisper White pieces for eyes and 2 Old Olive pieces cut in half (you'll have a left over half)for the eyelids and nose.  Sponge Old Olive on the eyelids and nose for added depth.  Adhere to front.
    5. Using the 1/2" Circle Punch punch out 2 pieces of Basic Black for the eyeballs.  Use a White Gel Pen to make highlights on the eyes.  Add mouth and stitches with a Black Stampin' Write Marker.  Add Post-Its inside.

    INGREDIENTS:

    • STAMPS: none
    • INK: Old Olive, Stampin' Write Marker, White Gel Pen
    • PAPER: Basic Black, Old Olive

    Spooky Glitter Window

Hey there stampers! Thanks for stopping by!
Today's card uses a technique called glitter window. It's easy and super sparkly!

    STEPS:

    1. Start with Whisper White cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold in half.  Using the 1 3/8 Circle punch make a hole in the top of your card in the center as far down as the punch will let you go.
    2. Add some Pumpkin Pie Striped ribbon to a panel of Cast-A-Spell DSP cut at 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere it to your card base and line up the hole with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch again and punch a hole in the DSP.
    3. Put a piece of clear packing tape on the inside front of your card over the hole made with the 1 3/8" circle Punch sicky side facing out.  Be careful not to handle the tape too much or you will have finger prints!  Pour some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over the sticky packing tape and tap excess off.
    4. Place your stamped pumpkin from Halloween Frights stamped in Pumpkin Pie on the inside front of your card so he faces out and can be seen from the front.  Add a panel of Old Olive cut at 4 x 5 1/4 to the inside font of your card to cover your stamped image and tape. Punch a scrap piece of Only Orange first with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch and then center the hole you made inside the Scallop Circle Punch to create the scallop frame for your glitter window.  Adhere to card.
    5. Add sentiment stamped in basic Black on Whisper White, punch with Word Window, add to Old Olive punched with Modern Label, add to elegant eggplant punched with 1" Cirlce Punch and finally to Only Orange punched with Designer Label Punch.

    INGREDIENTS:

    Sweet and Spooky Treats!

Hey there stampers! Thanks for stopping by today!
Today's card was one I made at my adorable recruit Jennifer's Mini Catalog Open House.  She found a blog where someone had created a way to get the treats out of the treat cup without destroying the entire card.  Unfortunately I don't have the info of the demonstrator who supplied the info to begin with but they are a genius for sure!

Inside the card-the removable bookmark is on the left and stamped on the right.

A close up (blurry-sorry!) of two Photo Corners punched out and adhered on the outer edges with ultra skinny redline tape (Sticky Strip)  they are facing like two "L"s     one like this I_  and one like this  _I  (Am I clear as mud?)  The bookmark slides in from the front through a Modern Label Punched out hole in the front of the card goes behind and sits in between the two Photo Corners to hold your goddies inside the treat cup.
To access your goodies just simply slide the book mark out (make sure you have your card laying down or you'll dump out perfectly good chocolate onto the floor!)  Is that just fabulous?

    INGREDIENTS:

    • STAMPS: From the Crypt, Sweet Centers
    • INK: Old Olive, Basic Black
    • PAPER: Very Vanilla, Kraft
    • ACCESSORIES: Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon, Skinny red line tape
    • TOOLS: Modern Label, 1 3/4 Circle, Photo Corners, Ticket Corner, Slot Punches

Today's card is one I totally CASED from Monika Davis, a fellow demonstrator and blogger.  It was so stinkin' cute I couldn't resist plus my daughter is having a sleepover party for her 8th birthday in a couple weeks and it was perfect for her invitations!  You can see Monika's original card HERE.
    STEPS:

    1. Start with a Whisper White card base, add a panel of Certainly Celery run through with a Texture Plate (non-SU) cut at 4 x 5 1/4.
    2. Cut out 2 Top Notes using the Sweet Always DSP (retired) and fold one flap down and adhere.  Put aside until bear is cut and dressed.
    3. Cut out Build A Bear using the Stampin' Up Bear Bigz Die and Creamy Caramel and So Saffron (snout)card stock. Add Chocolate Chip card stock punched with the 1" Circle Punch to the back for the eyes, nose and mouth.
    4. Using Regal Rose and some scrap Sweet Always DSP, die cut shirt, heart and sleeve cuffs using the Stampin' Up Beary Essentials Bigz Die.  Adhere to bear and slide into "sleeping bag" Top Note pieces.  Add to card.
    5. Add button (non-SU) using Mini Glue Dot and stamp "You're Invited" in Basic Black using the Birthday Hugs and Wishes stamp set (retired too).

    It's Good to Dream

Hey there stampers! Hope you are enjoying your last day of the holiday weekend!  It's been relaxing and fun and I am sad to see it end.
Today's card uses more card guts (the last one I promise!) and the Razzle Dazzle stamp set.  I also used a new technique I learned.  I stamped my image first in versamark and then immediately into Rich Razzleberry ink before stamping it and then sprinkled embossing powder onto it and heat set it.  Now I have the color I want embossed!

    STEPS:

    1. Start with Very Vanilla card base cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded in half.  Add a panel of Rich Razzleberry cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and then another layer of Very Vanilla cut at 3 3/4 x 5.
    2. Add a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP cut at 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 and a small strip along the bottom.
    3. Stamp your image from the Razzle Dazzle stamp set first in Versamark ink then straight into Rich Razzleberry ink then onto a piece of Very Vanilla cut at 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.  Sprinkle Clear embossing Powder over it using a Powder Pal to catch the mess.  Set it using the Heat Tool.
    4. Notch out the corners using the Ticket Corner Punch and adhere to card after adding Fire Rhinestone Brad to cent of biggest flower.
    5. Stamp sentiment fromt he same stamp set in Basic Black.  Punch with Word Window Punch and layer onto Rich Razzleberry punched with Modern Label Punch.  Add Melon Mambo punched with 1" Circle Punch and adhere to card.

    INGREDIENTS:

    • STAMPS: Razzle Dazzle
    • INK: Versamark, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry
    • PAPER: Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo. Razzleberry Lemonade DSP
    • ACCESSORIES: Fire rhinestone Circle Brad, Clear Embossing Powder
    • TOOLS: Ticket Corner Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Powder Pal, Heat Tool

Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for checking in! :)
    Hugs,
