A New Challenge to Love!

Hi there stampers! Happy Friday to you!

While surfing around I found another challenge blog to play along with called the Pals Paper Arts blog. This is their first challenge and I was more than happy to play along with them! :) Their first challenge was to use Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip.

These colors were easy to work with and I paired it with the Mojo Monday sketch of the week.

The result was this cute birthday card. I used the Party Hearty stamp set (#111532), the Retro Remix Wheel (#115619), and some Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (#115675) along with Bermuda Bay ink (#115655)and cardstock (#115317), my Coluzzle (don't have the Circle Scissors yet!) Chocolate Chip (#102128) and Whisper White (#100730)cardstock, 3/4" Circle Punch(#107217), Photo Corners Punch (#109042)and Dimensionals(#104430) to pop it up. I used my Chocolate Chip and Melon Mambo SU Markers to ink the cupcake.

So what do you think?

Have a super day!

Mojo Opus Throw Down- 3 in 1!

Good morning stampers! I am sooo happy summer has officially begun for us and it's been great so far! After my middle daughter got out of school, we ran up to the high school (YIKES!! HIGH SCHOOL!!)for a volleyball meeting for my oldest daughter and then I came home and STAMPED FOR HOURS!! No homework to worry about, what time we eat dinner, who showered and still needs to and making sure little kids are in bed and asleep by their school bed time!!!! Yippee!! I am sure this blissful feeling will disappear quickly after a couple days of bickering kids, but for now we are GOOD!

Today's card combines three challenges in one! Yes, THREE! It's a record for me! I combined the Color Throw Down colors of the week with the Mojo Monday sketch and the challenge over at the Order of the Opus Gluei is " How does your garden grow?"
I also managed to use another soon to be retired stamp set, Heartfelt Thanks. The Mojo Monday sketch this week is a longer rectangular card so I measured a business sized envelope and made my card just a little smaller so I have an envelope that fits.
I started out with a Whisper White cardstock base and added a panel of Raspberry Tart DSP and Tempting Turquoise stamped with one of the flower images from the HEartfel Thanks stamp set in Versamark ink for a light watermark look. I adhered a strip of Whisper White between the two panels and stamped my background piece in Cameo Coral and matted it with Kiwi Kiss.
My main image is stamped with Kiwi Kiss and Cameo Coral with Basic Black for the sentiment. The "congratulations" stamp is from Birthday Hugs and Wishes, another retiring stamp set (but one I will keep!)inked in Black Stazon and punched with the Sneak Peak Modern Label Punch. I layered that onto a piece of Kiwi Kiss punched with the Scallop Oval Punch (yes, that made it into the new catalog!) The final touch is two Kiwi Kiss Buttons from the Button Bouquet collection with teeny strips of Raspberry Tart DSP through the button holes adhered with Mini Glue Dots.

I wasn't sure at first about this card-Cameo Coral is not one of my faves! What do you think?

I hope you have a terrific day! Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Color Throw Down Friday

Hey there stampers! Thanks for joining me! Happy Friday!

Today's card is another combination of challenges.
I used the Color Throw Down colors with the Mojo Monday sketch of the week. I also tried to use some of the retiring stamp sets I own to show them a little love before I sell them off!

I started out with a Green Galore base stamped randomly with the same color and added a panel of WW stamped randomly in Pink Passion and Green Galore using images from the Big Bold Birthday stamp set. I matted that with a piece of Chocolate Chip and added a piece of Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon stapled to the side. Next I adehered a small strip of Pink Passion cardstock and stamped my image from the Time to Party stamp set in Green Galore and punched it out with my 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I matted it with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock punched with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and mae an arrow with my scissors and added a brad in the center. The Pink Passion fringe is made by first punching a strip of Pink Passion with my Scallop Edge Punch, running it through my Crimper and then carefully scrunching it around my circle using a lot of adhesive. I added a double layer of Dimensionals so I can spin my arrow to point at the correct age of the recipient of this card.

Cute isn't it?
thanks for checking in with me today! I hope you stop by again soon!

Elizabeth

Mojo Monday Forest Friends

Hey there stampers! Happy Friday!

Today's cards are ones I made following the Mojo Monday Sketch of the week. I really liked this one and thought I'd break out my sweet little Forest Friends since I hadn't used them in a while.

I used pretty much the same cardstock and colors for both these cards. I started out with a Very Vanilla card base and added a panel of Always Artichoke just on the bottom of one of the cards and then entire card on the other. I added some Candy Lane DSP on the bottom of the bunny card and cut my two matching pieces for my owl card also in Candy Lane DSP.
The bunny card has two matching pieces of Manchester DSP. The ribbon is Mellow Moss Gingham Ribbon (retired I think)and brads that I have in my stash are probably from Joann's or Michael's. I stamped my trees using my SU Markers and punched it out with my 1 3/4" Circle Punch and added my bunny and owl to each card.
I used my 3/4" Square Punch to punch out the sentiment from the Goody Goody Gum Drops stamp set (hostess set) for my owl card and used the same sentiment for my bunny card but trimmed it with my scissors add adhered it to a heart from the Heart to Heart Punch.

How can you resist these adorable little critters I have no idea!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back soon!

Par-fect Mojo

Hi there stampers! Happy Wednesday! I'm so glad you stopped by to see me!
I had such fun with my Many Mower Mojo card yesterday that I made another using the same set.
I started out with a Very Vanilla base, added a panel of Always Artichoke (wow it's been a long time since I've used this color!), and some Manchester DSP and a Sahara Sand piece.
I added some Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon and a piece of Baja Breeze stamped with the sentiment from Many Mower. I stamped my main image from the Many Mower stamp set in the Occasions Mini in Black Stazon on Very Vanilla, colored my golfer with my SU Markers and matted it with some more Always Artichoke. I think we will be making this card at my upcoming Maculine Card Stamp Camp in a couple weeks.

Ingredients:
Stamps: Many Mower Paper: Manchester DSP, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand Ink: SU Markers, Black Stazon Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

Have a terrific day!

Mojo Mower :)

Good Morning Stampers! Thanks for stopping by!

Today I decided to play along with the ladies over at the Mojo Monday blog and came up with this really bright card!
I started out with a Real Red base, stamped "and many mower" from the Many Mower stamp set in the Occasions Mini catalog randomly in Tempting Turquoise on the same color cardstock and added it with my Only Orange and Summer Sun panels to my card. I stamped my main image in Black Stazon and colored it in with my SU Markers and matted it with some more Only Orange cardstock. I added it to my Real Red piece with dimensionals and ta-da! It's done. Super simple but I don't think you need too many frills with a card for a guy.

Ingredients:
Stamps: Many Mower Paper: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, WW, Only Orange, Summer Sun Ink: Black Stazon, Tempting Turquoise Accessories: SU Markers, Dimensionals

Hope you have a great day!

Elizabeth

Mojo Thursday!

Happy Thursday Stampers! Thanks for visiting me today!

Here's my submission for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I can never play along on the day it comes out, or if I do I have already posted for the day. :)

I started out with a Whisper White card base, added a panel of Real Red and then foraged around in my DSP scrap pile and found a fun combo of colors! I used the orange from the Summer Picnic DSP(retired), the turquoise from the Polka Dots and Paisley DSP(retired), and then the olive from the Old Olive DSP. I stamped my main image from the Big Bold Birthday set using my SU Markers and added the Metal Dot stickers (Colorbok)along the side. For the Scallop Circle I used Tempting Turquoise paper, with a cicrlce of WW stamped with dots in Sahara Sand and then the wording in Basic Black. I left the bow on the sketch off so this could go for either a boy or a girl.

Ingredients
:
Stamps: Big Bold Birthday Paper: Polka Dots and Paisly DSP(retired), Summer Picnic DSP (retired), Old Olive DSP, Real Red, WW Ink: SU Markers Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Colorbok Metal Stickers

Mojo Monday Wednesday!

Good Morning Stampers! Happy Wednesday!

Today's card is my submission for the Mojo Monday Sketch of the week. I used the Great Friend stamp set from the Occcasions Mini again. I just love this set! Remember you only have 8 more days to take advantage of the Get connected promotion where you get to pick a FREE item from the "Under $10" section of the Idea Book and Catalog when you spend $40 out of the Occasions Mini catalog. Who doesn't love FREE stuff?!?

I started out with a Whisper White cardstock base, aded a panel of Certainly Celery and then some Regal Rose stamped with the leaf image from the Great Friend set. I punched the Pink Pirouette piece with my Eyelet Border Punch and stamped the greeting and the butterfly in Pretty in Pink. I cut the butterfly out and used dimensionals to pop it up and used the Ticket Corner Punch on my Certainly Celery mat. The button from the Button Bouquet is added with a Mini Glue Dot and has a bit of Linen Thread tied on it.

Ingredients
:
Stamps: Great Friend Paper: WW, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose Ink: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink Accessories: Dimensionals, Button Bouquet, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots, Eyelet Border Punch

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mojo Monday on a Wednesday!

Good Morning Stampers! Happy Wednesday to you! I can't believe we are already half way through our spring break from school! Have you gotten your taxes out? I did ours back in Feb thank goodness-I hate taxes!!

Today's card is my submission for the Mojo Monday Sketch of the week. These are always fun to play along with!

I started out with my WW card base, added a piece of Candy Lane DSP and two different strips of Candy Lane punched with my Scallop Edge Punch. Next I added some Pink Pirouette Striped ribbon and my first square of more Candy Lane DSP matted with some Pink Pirouette. My main image from the Great Friend set in the Occasions Mini is stamped in Close to Cocoa on Whisper White also matted with some Pink Pirouette and the Ridinghood Red butterfly is popped up on Dimensionals. The sentiment which should have been stamped off to the right side is stamped in Chocolate Chip on the main panel. I just didn't think it would show up on the dark DSP and didn't want to make the card any busier by layering it with the oval punches or something else. Not exactly like the sketch but that's the fun part of doing a sketch, you make it your own!

Ingredients:
Stamps: Great Friend Paper: Candy Lane DSP, WW, Pink Pirouette Ink: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Ridinghood Red Accessories: Pink Pirouette Striped Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals

Hope you have a super day! See you soon!

Elizabeth

Sock Monkey Mojo

Happy Weekend Stampers! Today's card combines two challenges in one, the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge. I can't believe it is Sunday already and only now I've had time to do the Mojo Monday sketch!
I started out with a Tangerine Tango base then stamped my Sock Monkey in Chocolate Chip and added the speckles by masking off part of the monkey and stamping with the speckles from Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I colored the rest of him and the balloons in and popped up the party hat and Tangerine Tango balloon. I added a So Saffron Scallop Edge along the bottom and used my Mat Pack and Paper Piercer to line up my chocolate brads.
These colors remind me of the picture of my room when I was a baby-yellow, orange and brown! So 70's!

Ingredients:
Stamps: Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Sock Monkey Paper: Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, WW Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron Accessories: Blender Pen, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Brads, Dimensionals, SU Markers

The final touch is a sneak peak from the Occasions Mini! The sentiment is from a new stamp set called Oval All and I punched it out with our new Scalloped Oval Punch! Isn't it so cute! When I saw the mini I knew I HAD to have this set and the punch! And the Matchbox Die, and the Matchbox Messages, and Eight Great Greetings...need I go on?

Ingredients:
Stamps: Oval All, Petal Pizazz Paper: Raspberry Tart DSP, WW, Rose Red Ink: Black Stazon, SU Markers, Pale Plum, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Cameo Coral Accessories: Scallop Oval Punch, Corner Rounder, Pink Pirouette Striped Ribbon, Dimensionals

Mojo Monday Sketch on a Tuesday ;)

Hi there Stampers! So glad you stopped by!
Thank you to the ladies who have bought some of my retired stamp sets. I updated the list so if you haven't checked it out click on the link on the right side of my blog under Current SU Catalogs called "My Retired Stamp Sets For Sale".

Is it just me or does time fly by?!? Here it is again another week has gone by and another Mojo Monday Sketch to try.

I needed to make a thinking of you card for my step-brother and his wife who have a dog who was hit by a car last year. Boudreaux, their dog, was injured pretty severely and has gone through surgeries and been on medication and pain killers ever since. His main problem has been one of his legs which he does not use at all anymore and causes him much pain. The vet suggested they remove the leg to help give him some relief. His surgery was yesterday and I haven't heard yet how it went but I just wanted them to know that we were thinking of them.

I started with a Whisper White base, added some Manchester DSP matted in Sahara Sand, some brads and the doggie from All in the Family in a Baja Breeze scallop from the Scallop Circles #2 Sizzix Bigz Die and there you have it!

Ingredients:
Stamps: All in the Family, Trendy Trees (sentiment) Paper: Manchester DSP, WW, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand Ink: Basic Black, Creamy Caramel SU Marker Accessories: Brads, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer (to evenly space the brads-though it looks off in the pic)Dimensionals, Scallop Circles #2 Sizzix Bigz Die

Hope you have a great day and that you stop by again tomorrow!
Hugs,
Elizabeth

Mojo Monday Sketch

Good Morning Stampers! Thanks for taking time out of your day to visit! So I have become a total sucker for sketches as of late and guess what?!?! I think I have found a sketch for almost every day of the week! Nothing makes me happier (other than white chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory)than playing along with a sketch challenge. This week at the Mojo Monday blog there's a contest for free product from a Non-SU company, Verve Stamps. I don't ever buy stamps from other companies but FREE-that I can do without guilt! ;) So play along and see if you win!

I started my card out with a Kiwi Kiss base and added a matte of Chocolate Chip to my Candy Lane DSP pieces. My main image is from the Branch Out set (LOVE IT!)stamped in Close to Cocoa, Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss and sponged with Kiwi Kiss and Creamy Caramel. I added the butterflies and bird images in Ridinghood Red and the ribbon is Old Olive Grosgrain from SU (yes, I do own SU ribbon too!). The bottom of my card is paper pierced using my mat pack and my paper piercer.
Ingredients:
Stamps: Branch Out, Goody Goody Gumdrops (sentiment) Paper: Chocolate Chip, Candy Lane DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa Ink: Close to Cocoa, Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Basic Black, Ridinghood Red, Creamy Caramel Accessories: Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Mini Glue Dots, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer
Hope you enjoyed my card and that you try out this sketch! I'd love to see what you come up with.

Mojo Monday

Hi there Stampers! How are you? Thanks for taking time out of your busy lives to stop by!

Today's card is my submission for the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. There are LOTS of layers on this one so I don't think I'll be mailing it! It's heavy! I was blog surfing yesterday and saw lots of Easter themed cards so I thought I'd make my card with the A Good Egg set. The chick is just too cute! I teamed it up with some retired DSP and this is the end result! If you haven't tried a sketch challenge before-you just have to try it once! It's so fun!
Ingredients:
Stamps
: A Good Egg Paper: Certainly Celery, WW, Spring Fling DSP Ink: Basic Black, SU markers Accessories: 3/4" Circle, 1" Circle, Designer Label, Word Window, Colobok metal stickers ($1 at Joann's), Eyelet Border Punch
Hope you have a super day!

Mojo Monday Sketch

Good Tuesday morning stampers! Hope you had a nice 3 day weekend! Other than all the rain and all the muddy footprints it brings with it was nice to have everyone home.
I was blog surfing yesterday and saw the Mojo Monday sketch and thought it looked like fun to play along. Here's what I came up with.
I got my new Trendy Trees set yesterday so it was perfect timing to make a more masculine card with it. I used some retired DSP scraps and the Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and of course my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the trees just right. It's a must for this set. I think it turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself ;).
Ingredients:
Stamps: Trendy Trees Paper: Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, WW, Petals & Paisleys DSP Ink: Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip Accesories: Spots & Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Scissors, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Non-SU Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment so I know someone is actually reading what I post! :)
Hugs,
Elizabeth
