Baskets and Blooms Turned Treat Purse

Hey there stampers! Thanks for stopping by!  I'm in for a super busy weekend so I set up some posts for the weekend ahead of time.  Hopefully they will post at the right time! :)
Today's post is a project that I am doing at an upcoming workhop.  It uses the Bags and Blooms Sizzix Bigx XL Die in a different way.  The fab-o Angie Kennedy Juda showed me how to do this on her blog.  Check out her tutorial and all the amazing things she does HERE.

STEPS:

  1. Die cut 2 baskets from the Baskets and Blooms Sizzix Bigx XL Die in Old Olive card stock.  Follow Angie's awesome directions to cut and score your baskets.
  2. Stamp the bat from the Halloween Frights stamp set in Basic Black randomly on the baskets before assembling them.  Assemble baskets as shown by Angie.
  3. Stamp spider from Batty For You stamp set on Whisper White in Basic Black twice.  Punch one out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and just the spider on the other with the 1" Circle Punch.  Adhere the spider with a Dimensional to the larger spider image and layer onto Only Orange punched with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. Adhere to basket.
  4. Add approx. 6 1/2" of Striped Pumpkin Pie Ribbon to basket handle and tie in knot.  Add treat! :)

INGREDIENTS:

  • STAMPS: Batty for You, Halloween Frights
  • INK: Basic Black
  • PAPER: Old Olive, Whisper White, Only Orange
  • ACCESSORIES: Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon
  • TOOLS: 1", 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches

Hope you are having a terrific weekend! Today I will be knee deep in little girls making Build-A-Bear projects for my daughter's 8th Birthday Sleepover party.  Wish me luck!

Spooky Glitter Window

Hey there stampers! Thanks for stopping by!
Today's card uses a technique called glitter window. It's easy and super sparkly!

STEPS:

  1. Start with Whisper White cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold in half.  Using the 1 3/8 Circle punch make a hole in the top of your card in the center as far down as the punch will let you go.
  2. Add some Pumpkin Pie Striped ribbon to a panel of Cast-A-Spell DSP cut at 4 x 5 1/4. Adhere it to your card base and line up the hole with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch again and punch a hole in the DSP.
  3. Put a piece of clear packing tape on the inside front of your card over the hole made with the 1 3/8" circle Punch sicky side facing out.  Be careful not to handle the tape too much or you will have finger prints!  Pour some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over the sticky packing tape and tap excess off.
  4. Place your stamped pumpkin from Halloween Frights stamped in Pumpkin Pie on the inside front of your card so he faces out and can be seen from the front.  Add a panel of Old Olive cut at 4 x 5 1/4 to the inside font of your card to cover your stamped image and tape. Punch a scrap piece of Only Orange first with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch and then center the hole you made inside the Scallop Circle Punch to create the scallop frame for your glitter window.  Adhere to card.
  5. Add sentiment stamped in basic Black on Whisper White, punch with Word Window, add to Old Olive punched with Modern Label, add to elegant eggplant punched with 1" Cirlce Punch and finally to Only Orange punched with Designer Label Punch.

INGREDIENTS:

  • STAMPS: Halloween Frights
  • INK: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
  • PAPER: Cast-A-Spell DSP, Old Olive, Only Orange, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
  • ACCESSORIES: Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Packing Tape
  • TOOLS: Scallop Circle, 1 3/8 Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Designer Label Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch

Super cute isn't it?
