Easter's on its Way!

Hi there Stampers! Ok so it's still a ways to Easter but this morning I got together with a friend and we made some super stinking cute Easter things!
We knew we wanted to use the typical soft pastel colors for our projects and what better paper to use than the Delicate Dots DSP from the Sale-a-Bration catalog!
For the first card we started out with a WW base, added our Delicate Dots DSP and then stamped our bunny from the Eight Great Greetings set from the new Occasions Mini. This set is now available on a preorder so you can get a jump start on your spring projects. We colored our bunny in, punched him with the Wide Oval Punch and then added our scalloped DSP around the edge. How did we do that you may ask? Well I went to an awesome blog called Stamps, Paper, Scissors and Jan showed me how!!! It's a little bit tricky to get the scallops just right all the way around the oval but it is worth all the fuss! Isn't it just darling?!?! Next we die cut our Sizzix Eggs in Certainly Celery and So Saffron and then ran them through again in both the Swiss Dots and Spots and Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folders. Brilliant if I do say so myself! The ribbon is Certainly Celery also from the SAB catalog.

This next card is one I am doing at my next workshop (Hi Melina! Sneak peaks for you!). I used the same bunny from the Eight Great Greetings and paired it with the Delicate Dots DSP, the So Saffron Ribbon and the Polka Dot Punches all from the SAB catalog. I punched out the flower image using the Five Petal Flower Punch, added a second flower punched in Pretty in Pink and put a brad in the center. The Eyelet Border Punch looks like lace along the bottom of the DSP.

The box you see is the new Matchbox Die also in the new Occasions Mini catalog available April 1st.
It is so versatile and easy to assemble after you've done it once or twice. The die also comes with 3 different tags that are super cute to layer. We die cut some Certainly Celery for the box base and added some more of the Delicate Dots DSP for the lid. We wrapped up some Hershey Nuggets with matching paper and wrapped some more SAB ribbon to finish it off. These Matchboxes are perfect for party favors, wedding favors or little gifts just because! I know I'll be going back to this die again and again!

Mojo Monday on a Tuesday!

Hi again! I just finished doing all my blog surfing and found the Mojo Monday sketch for the week and I thought I'd whip up a card for it.
I started with a WW base, added some Raspberry Tart DSP and some Rose Red. I stamped flowers from Petal Pizazz in colors to match the DSP and added some Pink Pirouette Striped Ribbon. The final touch is a sneak peak from the Occasions Mini! The sentiment is from a new stamp set called Oval All and I punched it out with our new Scalloped Oval Punch! Isn't it so cute! When I saw the mini I knew I HAD to have this set and the punch! And the Matchbox Die, and the Matchbox Messages, and Eight Great Greetings...need I go on?

Ingredients:
Stamps: Oval All, Petal Pizazz Paper: Raspberry Tart DSP, WW, Rose Red Ink: Black Stazon, SU Markers, Pale Plum, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Cameo Coral Accessories: Scallop Oval Punch, Corner Rounder, Pink Pirouette Striped Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thanks for checking in with me! Have a great day!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Good morning Stampers! I hope you had a great weekend! My two older daughters have been in AZ visiting their grandma since Thursday evening and I am so glad to have them finally home! Of course gone is the peace and quiet too!
So it's time for another awesome Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge from Karen! This was such a fun sketch and I had a hard time deciding which stamp set to use so I made two!

The first one is using the Branch Out set from the Idea Book and Catalog. I had my eye on this set and had to have it-apparently I have a thing for trees lately! I started out with a Chocolate Chip base, added some Old Olive DSP and ran some Old Olive Cardstock through my Big Kick with the Scallop Circles #2 Sizzix Bigz Die to make the big scallop circle. I cut the WW circle using my Coluzzle. My main image is stamped with Close to Cocoa for the tree trunk and branches and Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive for the leaves. I added a hint of color by stamping the birdhouse image in Tangerine Tango. I stamped the "Celebrate" from the new Matchbox Messages (from the new mini available April 1st)in Chocolate Chip, cut it out and layered it on the coordinating Matchbox Label from the new Matchbox Die also in the new mini. The final touch was a piece of Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon.

Having gotten my preorder from the Occasions Mini I had many new things to play with. I really wanted to stamp with my new Forest Friends set so I made another card using the same sketch but turning it on its side. I used the same DSP and cardstock colors that I used in the first card since I had it all out already. Again I started out with my Chocolate Chip card base, added the Old Olive DSP matted with Tangerine Tango. I die cut another Old Olive Scallop Circle using the Scallop Circles #2 Sizzix Bigz Die. I stamped the tree image using several SU Markers and the deer with Close to Cocoa. I went back and colored in its nose and hooves with my Chocolate Chip marker and colored in the ground. The butterflies are from the Branch Out set and are stamped in Tangerine Tango. The final touch was a knotted Tangerine Tango Striped Ribbon and the sentiment same as the first card.

Ingredients #1:
Stamps: Branch Out, Matchbox Messages Paper: Old Olive DSP, Old Olive, WW, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Kiwi Kiss Accessories: Matchbox Die, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Coluzzle, Scallop Circles #2 Die, 1/4" Circle Punch

Ingredients #2:
Stamps: Branch Out, Forest Friends, Matchbox Messages Paper: Old Olive DSP, Old Olive, WW, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango Ink: SU Markers, Close to Cocoa, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Matchbox Die, Tangerine Tango Striped Ribbon, Coluzzle, Scallop Circles #2 Die,

Hope you enjoyed my cards!

New Occasions Mini Stamps!

Happy Sunday Stampers! Thanks for stopping by!
Yesterday I had a chance to finally ink up and play with some of my new goodies from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Now the catalog doesn't officially start until April 1st, but Stampin' Up is letting customers purchase a few stamp sets early to get a jump start on your Easter and Spring projects! Now as a demonstrator I get to pre-order everything so I have even more fun new stuff to play with! Stay tuned for some awesome projects using sets and die cuts from the mini!
One of the sets that is available for pre-order is called Eight Great Greetings. This set has so many uses-it's a must have! I needed a birthday card so I used the cake slice image from this set to make a hinge card. I saw the hinge card first in my Stampin' Success magazine, a magazine exclusively for demonstrators but it's been all over blogland! You can see another example of a hinge card here, but to make mine I followed the step by step video done by none other than the absolutely fantastic Dawn Griffith. Click here to check it out. I started out with a WW base, added Certainly Celery wheeled with a new Egg Hunt wheel in the same color and scallop punched the edge. The top is a piece of So Saffrom stamped with the stars from Just Jawing (yes, I have finally put it away!)in the same color. I stamped my main image in Basic Black and colored it in with SU markers and matted it in Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink. The ribbon is from the Sale-A-Bration ribbon bundle that you can get for free with a $50 order!
Ingredients:
Stamps
: Eight Great Greetings, Just Jawing Paper: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, WW, Pretty in Pink Ink: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Basic Black, SU Markers Accessories: Star Brad, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge Punch, Certainly Celery Ribbon, Egg Hunt Wheel
Have a great day and we'll see you tomorrow!
