Faux Silk Technique

Hey there stampers! How are you?  Thanks for stopping by today!
Today's card is one we did at my technique class yesterday demonstrating the faux silk technique.  Super simple and really nice looking.

STEPS:

  1. Start with a Mellow Moss card base.  Take a piece of tissue paper (the kind you use in gift bags) cut a little larger than 4 x 5 1/4 and stamp the leaf image from the Embrace Life stamp set randomly in Jet Black Stazon ink.  Color in with the Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Marker.  Crumple it up, carefully uncrumple and crumple it up again to get it good and wrinkly. :)
  2. Take a piece of Whisper White card stock cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 and cover with glue stick-make sure it is totally covered but not lumpy.  Uncrumple and adhere the tissue paper over it and smooth out some but not all of the wrinkles.  Add to a mat of Basic Black card stock cut at 4 x 5 1/4.
  3. Add ribbon (mine from a craft store)across tissue covered piece and adhere to card base.
  4. Stamp flower from Embrace Life stamp set, color and cut out.  I used Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose.  Add half pearl from the Pretties Kit with a Mini Glue Dot to center of flower and adhere to card.
  5. Stamp sentiment from Pocket Silhouettes stamp set in Basic Black on Whisper White and punch with Word Window.  Add to Mellow Moss punched with Modern Label Punch then onto Basic Black punched with Designer Label with a 1" Circle of Whisper White in the center.  Add to card.
