Relax and some Kittens!

Good Morning Stampers! Thanks for stopping by!

Today's card is my submission for the latest Opus Gluei challenge called Getaway. I used the Just Beachy set from the Occasions Mini because it just screams summer vacation!
I started with a Tangerine Tango base and stamped the flip flop images from the Just Beachy set in the same color along the bottom. I stamped all my images in Black Stazon and colored them in with my beloved SU Markers. I used the Ticket Corner Punch on my main image and matted it in Tempting Turquoise and Brilliant Blue. I punched the popsicles with my 3/4" Circle Punch and layered it on Summer Sun punched with my 1" Circle Punch. The sentiment comes from the Many Mower stamp set and is adhered with Dimensionals. Super bright, cheery and summery-definitely says "Getaway" to me!

So for those of you who read my blog often, you know that we are a crazy cat family. We foster kitties who have been abandoned, are feral(wild), or are from the pound through an organization called Pink Paws here in Simi Valley. We get them tested, vaccinated, fixed and ready for their new permanent homes. It is so fun and rewarding. Being that kitten season has begun there have been a steady stream of kittens through our group. I actually have two sets of kittens that we are fostering right now. I have pictures of them to share!

These little guys are from the pound where they would for sure have been put down (they don't even TRY to get them homes when they are tiny! Can you imagine?!?) They are now about 6 weeks old and will be fixed next week and off to adoption. Actually two of them already have been spoken for!

The next set is a feral mamma and her four 3 week old babies. The babies are now stating to play which is so fun to watch. We've been leaving them pretty much alone other than food, water and litter box changing because their mamma is NOT happy and I don't want to stress her out and have her stop nursing her babies!

Hope you enjoyed my card and the baby fuzzy faces! Have a terrific day!
Hugs,
Elizabeth

  1. Where to start!?! Such cuteness! Love the kitties, I think it is wonderful that you foster them - calicoes (and torties are included in this) make the best mama kitties.

Your card is, of course, perfect. I am loving the woody packed and headed for the beach, the flip flops, and the summery treats - delish!

I don't know what happens with Mr. Linky. I'm the O-G tech support so I guess I need to go over there and make lots of noise and kick stuff and pretend somehow that I fixed it...

  4. Hi Elizabeth! Your cards are awesome - perfect for Father's day. The kitties are just soooo adorable! We have a big kitty, Oliver, at home and seeing these teenie tiny ones just remind me of when he was little (just a year and a half ago!) On another note - I am totally tardy in mailing your freebie. I brought it with me to work to make sure it gets dropped off today! Have a great weekend!
