A New Challenge to Love!

Hi there stampers! Happy Friday to you!

While surfing around I found another challenge blog to play along with called the Pals Paper Arts blog. This is their first challenge and I was more than happy to play along with them! :) Their first challenge was to use Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip.

These colors were easy to work with and I paired it with the Mojo Monday sketch of the week.

The result was this cute birthday card. I used the Party Hearty stamp set (#111532), the Retro Remix Wheel (#115619), and some Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (#115675) along with Bermuda Bay ink (#115655)and cardstock (#115317), my Coluzzle (don't have the Circle Scissors yet!) Chocolate Chip (#102128) and Whisper White (#100730)cardstock, 3/4" Circle Punch(#107217), Photo Corners Punch (#109042)and Dimensionals(#104430) to pop it up. I used my Chocolate Chip and Melon Mambo SU Markers to ink the cupcake.

So what do you think?

Have a super day!

My Lil Pony

Hey there stampers! Thanks for joining me today!

Today's card is a cute one. It uses the new Pony Party stamp set, one I knew I'd have to get since I have little girls. My littlest, Hannah, likes to play with My Little Ponies and this set looks just like them!

I started out with a card base of Lavender Lace cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and folded in half. I trimmed off about 1/2" and added some Whisper White cardstock punched with the Eyelet Punch. I stamped my images from the Pony Party stamp set (#115217) in Black Stazon Ink on Whisper White and colored them in with my SU Markers. I used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to stamp the wings in just the right place and punched the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch. I added some Pale Plum cardstock squares to the corners and popped it all up on Dimensionals. I stamped some of the smaller images from the same set in Lavender Lace along the edge of the card and stamped Happy Birthday from the All Holidays stamp set (#114916).
I think I might just save this one for Hannah's birthday :)
Have a great day!

C is for CAT

Hi there Stampers! Hope you are having a great day!

Today's card is one I have been waiting for soooo long to make! Being a crazy cat lady this was the first stamp set I wanted in the new catty. I ordered it while on vacation so it would be here when I got home waiting for me patiently like a good kitty should. :) When I got home after driving all day I kissed my hubbie hello and went straight to my craft room to find my new beloved stamp set. I ripped open the box and it wasn't there!!!! I did, however, receive a stamp set I didn't order but it was in French! Of course sometimes these things happen but why THAT set? Anyway SU is always so great in resolving issues so I finally got my set yesterday. :) :) :)

This is what I made :)

It is so much cuter in person! So simple but I love it. I used Black Stazon ink, Whisper White and Real Red cardstock-that's it!

Don't forget today is the LAST DAY to enter to win my BLOG CANDY from Friday's post. I only have about 10 entries so you have a pretty good chance to win!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Fancy Favors

Hi there Stampers!

I finally got a chance to play with the new Sizzix Bigz XL Fancy Favor Box Die (#115965) and it has instantly become my favorite next to the Top Note Die. It's super cute and can be used for such a variety of things. I know I'll be using this again and again for gifts, party favors and hostess incentives!

I used the retired Sweet Always DSP to make the boxes and then made the handle out of the leftover strip. I attached the handle using a brad and then filled them up with four 3x3 notecards. I used scraps of the DSP to decorate my cards and stamped some using the Birthday Bliss Stamp set.

I decorated the fronts of my bags with the Scallop Circle Punch, the Boho Blossoms Punch and the negative part of the Die Cut Blooms in Pumpkin Pie. The result cute and easy gifts that I know will be loved!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment on Friday's post to enter to win my first ever Blog Candy! :) I'll be choosing a winner Wednesday evening and posting it on my blog on Thursday.
Have a super day!

Deal of the Week!

Hey there stampers! Happy Monday!!

I am still working on a few things to post so I don't have a project yet but I do have the Deal of the Week from Stampin' Up!

This week the Heart to Heart Punch is on sale for $10.99, normally $15.95. This punch is great not only for Valentine's Day but also for Anniversary or Wedding cards. You can put the hearts together to make butterfly wings, flowers or just use them as is. The best part is that is coordinates perfectly with the Love You Much stamps set (#113756 on page 44 of the catalog). Definitely a useful tool in your punch arsenal! ;)
Don' t forget to check back to Friday's post to enter to win my first ever Blog Candy! I am leaving it open until Wed. the 29th as my comments somehow disappeared over the weekend and I want everyone to have enough time to enter or re-enter!

Color Throw Down and a Coffee Break Challenge

Hi there Stampers! Thanks for stopping by!

I haven't played along with a challenge in so long it was such fun to do these two! I combined two challenges for today's card. I used the sketch from the ladies at the Diva Coffee Break Designs blog as well as the colors for the Color Throw Down for this week!

I started out with a Whisper White card base and ran it through with the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I sponged the edges first in Certainly Celery and the in Perfect Plum. I added a thin strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock and stamped my image from the Very Thankful stamp set (#115338) in Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip using my SU Markers. I matted it first on Perfect Plum and then on Certainly Celery cardstock. I popped it up on Dimensionals and added the knot of Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot.

I love this peacock image! What's great about this stamp set is that it has a variety of styles (pretty, cutesy and more modern) and for every one of this stamp set sold Stampin' Up! donates $2 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. A great stamp set and a great cause!

Don't forget to check out last Friday's post so you can be put into the drawing for some Blog Candy!! :)

Season of Thankful Friendship

Good Morning Stampers! Thanks for visiting!

Today's card was a fun one to make. I started out with a Soft Suede card base and added a panel of Whisper White after sponging the sky in Bashful Blue and the grass in Certainly Celery and Old Olive. I punched the corners using the Ticket Corner Punch and stamped the tree from the Season of Friendship stamp set (#111776) in Soft Suede. The leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery and Old Olive and the flowers in Crushed Curry. I stamped the sentiment fromt he Trendy Trees stamp set and punched it out with the Word Window Punch and stamped a leaf on the edge. I layered it on Soft Suede punched with the Modern Label Punch, then onto Crushed Curry punched with the 1" Circle punch and finally onto Old Olive punched with the Designer Label Punch. Very punchy but I like it! The final touch..those metal stickers from Colorbok. I can't resist them! :)

Thanks for checking in with me! Have a great day!

Tall Tales Tree

Hey there stampers!

Today's card uses some of the new Tall Tales DSP which is super cute! I started out with a Soft Suede cardbase cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and folded in half. I cut off 1 1/4" off the front end of the card and added some So Saffron punched with the Scallop Edge Punch. I added my panel of the Tall Tales DSP (#115678) and stamped a tree from the Trendy Trees stamp set (#113258)in Old Olive and Soft Suede and used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line it up. The sentiment also comes from the TRendy Trees set. I punched the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch and matted it on a piece of So Saffron. Ta Da!
What do you think? I'm a sucker for trees and leaves so I love it! :)
Thanks for stooping by! Enjoy your day!

Melon Mambo Melons!!

Hey there stampers! Thanks for stopping by!

Today I am going to share with you a project I made for one of my downline whose birthday I missed while I was on vacation! Hi Judy!! We've been blowing through the watermelon here at the Fortuna house and so I was in a watermelon mood and thought I'd play around with my punches and make some! I made a set of four cards to go inside a super cute card box. To make my card I started with a Whisper White card base, added a panel of Melon Mambo and another of Whisper White. I stamped the sentiment from the Heard from the Heart stamp set (#111644) in Black Stazon and made my watermelons using the 1 3/4" Circle Punch on Glorious Green and the 1 3/8" Circle Punch on Melon Mambo and cutting them in half. I punched a "bite" out of the watermelon slices with the edge of my Scallop Circle Punch and colored seeds with my Black SU Marker. Simple Simple Simple!
My box is made using Melon Mambo and Whisper White with a touch of Glorious Green on the top. I tied it closed with some of the yummy Polka Dot Ribbon also in Melon Mambo. I found the directions for my box on Splitcoast HERE.

So what do you think? Almost good enough to eat! ;)
I didn't forget about the blog candy! Check back on Friday, you won't want to miss it!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Celebrate

Hi there! Thanks for visiting!

I am so happy to be stamping again! I stamped a little up at my mom's but we had unexpected bad weather and a flood in the basement as a result of it, so we spent a lot of our time there cleaning up the mess.

Today's card starts with a Whisper White card base with a panel of the new Melon Mambo stamped with a stamp from the Wow Flowers (#111714) stamp set in Melon Mambo. I punched a circle in both the Melon Mambo and Whisper White with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and then added a hanging circle of Bermuda Bay with another image from the Wow Flowers stamp set suspended with some sewing thread. I punch a piece of Bermuda Bay first with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and then used the Scallop Circle Punch to center it and make a scallop circle border. I stamped my sentiment from the Celebrate Everything (#114942)stamp set in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White and punch the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch. The final touch is another one of those metal stickers from Colorbok in the $1 section of Joann's. On the inside I stamped Happy Birthday to You from the dormant list Birthday Wish stamp (#114486).
It's been a while since I made a suspended card and it was fun! Hope you liked it too!
Have a great day!

I'm Back!!

Hi there stampers! How are you? Thanks for stopping by!

We finally got back from our vacation to WY and then to AZ and then back home. Unfortunately I had very limited access to the net while we were away and I didn't get a post set up for everyday so I'm sorry there hasn't been anything new for a few days. I don't think I'll have anything today either. Lots of unpacking and laundry and shopping to do..blah...welcome back from vacation!!! :)

But while I was gone my blog went over 10,000 hits!!! Woo Hooo! Thank you so much for checking out my blog and for returning!! Stay tuned for some blog candy as a reward!!

Thank You Gift

Hi there stampers!

Today's project is a stationary box I made as a thank you gift for my sister-in-law's mother that let us stay the night on our way up to Wyoming. It was so nice of her to open up her house to us and we saved the cost of a hotel.

I got the measurements from somewhere out there in blog land but of course cannot find them anymore! So if this is yours please let me know so I can give you the credit! :)

I started out with two pieces of Certainly Celery cardstock measuring 7 3/4" x 9" and 6 7/8" x 8 1/4". I scored the 7 3/4" x 9" on all four sides at 1 1/2" and at 1" on all sides of the smaller piece. I cut up to the score lines on the long side of the corners and put them together with sticky strip. I decorated the top using some Certainly Celery DSP, a Pretty in Pink flower die cut with an Embosslit and some leaves die cut witht he Stampin' Up Sizzix Little Leaves Die.

Inside I put 6 thank you cards that I had made as my swap for my Woo Hoo stampers event that I had left over. I think it's a cute gift and hopefully she will enjoy them too. :)

Hope you are having a great day!

Elizabeth

Raspberry Garden Whimsy

Hi there Stampers! Thanks for visiting!

Today's card is another gate fold card. I started out with a Pumpkin Pie base and added some Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I stamped my butterfly image from the Gaden Whimsy stamp set using the rock n roll technique inking it first in Pumpkin Pie and then Melon Mambo. I matted it on Melon Mambo and adhered it only on the left side so you can open it. I added the little lady bug inked with Rich Razzleberry and Black SU Markers, punched with the 1" Circle Punch and matted on some more Melon Mambo.
On the inside I added a panel of Whisper White and stamped another butterfly from the same set in Melon Mambo.

These new colors were not my faves at first but they have become more appealing since I've been playing around with them more.

Hope you have a great day!

Hi there! Thanks for visiting!

Today's card starts with a Basic Black card base. I stamped the flowers from the Razzle Dazzle stamp set randomly in Black Stazon on a Whisper White Top Note and in White ink on the Basic Black card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set on Whisper White with Black Stazon and punched it with the Word Window Punch. I layered it on a piece of Real Red punched with the Modern Label Punch, then onto WW punched with the 1" Circle Punch and finally onto a piece of Basic Black punched with the Designer Label Punch.

I like the way it turned out, what do you think?

Have a super day! See you again soon!

Razzleberry Lemonade Birthday!

Hi there stampers! Hope you are having a terrific day! And when life gives you lemons...make razzleberry lemonade! ;)

Today's card is actually a gift card holder. We learned how to make these at our Woo Hoo Stampers get together back in April. Super easy and super cute-just how I like it!

I started out with a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock-it was already scored and I don't have the directions right now, but I'll give them to you if you ask for it when I get back from vacation. :) I added some of our new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP along the top pocket and took a piece of Melon Mambo and punched it with the Scallop Edge punch and adhered it to the edge of the bottom pocket. I added some Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon around the gift card holder and stapled a piece to the top of the Melon Mambo note tag. The cupcake is stamped using my new In Color Markers and cut out and is from the Party Hearty stamp set.

You'll be happy to know there is nothing retired in this post!!

Lots of Bots

Hey there stampers! Thanks for stopping by!

Today's card uses the super cute new set called Lots of Bots. It is the perfect set for a little boys birthday or to give a guy when he's not feeling well! It's fun to color too!

I started out with a Ballet Blue card base and stamped the rows of numbers and nuts and bolts in the same color for the background. I stamped my bot in Black Stazon and colored it in with my SU markers in Going Gray, Summer Sun and Ballet Blue. I notched out the corners with my Ticket Corner Punch and matted it on some Summer Sun. The final touch are the silver Metal Stickers from Joann's $1 spot. Love those little buggers!

Hope you are having a great day!

Pink Silhouette

Hey there stampers? Is it hot in here or what?!? It's been a warm summer!

Today's card uses more card guts (apparently I had a large amount stashed away!). These were from Valentine's Day but were so cute I kept it pretty much the same except for the stamp set.

I started out with a Basic Black card base, added a strip of the retired Candy Lane DSP and punched out 3 pieces of Pretty in Pink with the Scallop Square Punch. Next I stamped the silhouttes from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set in Black Stazon and punched them out with the 1 1/4" Square Punch and layered them on the Scallop Squares. I used my 1/8" Circle Punch to punch the very edge of the fold of the card to create a little slit to run the Pink Gingham Ribbon (retired)through and tied it in a knot. I had stamped the heart from the A Happy Heart stamp set in Black Stazon on Shrink Plastic and used my heat tool to shrink it back in February so I had some left. I ran some silver cording through the hole I had made in it before heating it and tied it around the Pink Gingham Ribbon. I left the sentiment off until I need the card-either for an anniversary or maybe for Valentine's?

So glad you stopped by today! Have a happy stamping day!

Elizabeth

Take "Note" of This!

Hi there stampers! Thanks for visiting!

So my title says to take "note" of this because I used my Top Note Die only available through Stampin' Up! Ha ha I'm a dork, I know-it's ok I'm aware of it! ;)

Today's card starts with a an Old Olive card base cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and folded in half. I ran a piece of WW cardstock through with my bleoved Top Note Die and then sponged the edges with Sahara Sand and Old Olive ink. I stamped the flower image from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set in Sahara Sand and my sentiment from the same set is stamped in Black Stazon and punched with the Word Window Punch. I layered it on a piece of Old Olive punched with the new Modern Label Punch and popped it up on Dimensionals (can a girl make a card without those?!). The final touch is some Moss Gingham Ribbon (retired)tied in a knot on the side.

I really like this card and it came together in less than five minutes including using the Top Note Die. It is a must have! :)

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Elizabeth

Good Friend!

Hi there stampers!

Today's card is so cute! I love this birdie!

I started out with a Bashful Blue cardbase, stamped it with the Polka Dot background stamp in the same color and then added some of the dandelion looking image from the Good Friend stamp set also in Bashful Blue. I stamped my bird in Brocade Blue and his beak and feet in Only Orange and added a googlie eye for the fun of it! I notched out the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch and matted it on a piece of Ballet Blue. I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set in Brocade Blue and matted it also on Ballet Blue after adding some Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon around it. The final touch are those super cute and easy little Metal Stickers from Joann's.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card for today! Have a great day and hope to see you again tomorrow!

Razzle Dazzle

Good Morning Stampers! Thanks for stopping by!

Today's card is a gate fold card and is super cute IMHO (in my humble opinion). There's great tutorial for these on the fabulous Dawn Griffith's blog. I started out with a Basic Black card base, scored according to Dawn's tutorial and added panels of Good Morning Sunshine DSP (retired).
I stamped my main image using the new Razzle Dazzle stamp set inked with the new Melon Mambo SU Marker (Yippee!! Markers for In Colors!)and Old Olive and again on a scrap and punched the scrap out with my 1 1/4" Circle Punch and matted it on Basic Black punched witht he 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I punched the corners of my main image with the Ticket Corner punch, matted it on a piece of Summer Sun and again on a piece of Basic Black. I adhered it only on the left side so you can open the card.
On the inside of the card I used my SU Markers again to ink up the other flower in the Razzle Dazzle stamp set and stamped the corners of my Whisper White piece. I left the inside blank so I can add a sentiment later.

I hope you are having a terrific day and that you stop by again soon!
Hugs,
Elizabeth

Sweet Owl

Hi there stampers!

Today's the first day you can order from the new catty! Yippee! Just click the "Shop 24/7" button on the side ------> if you'd like to place an order.

By now I am on the road on my way to Wyoming, actually we will stop in Utah first because there is no way I can drive 18 hours straight with three kids in the car with me! So wish me luck, pray for our safety and for my sanity!

Today's card uses more card guts and the owl from the new Animal Stories stamp set available today!
I started with an Old Olive card base, added the Cuttlebugged panel of Close to Cocoa and stamped my owl image from the Animal Stories stamp set first in Dusty Durango and then rock and rolled it in Soft Suede. I added some Summer Sun to his spots and beak and stamped the branch from the Cheep Talk stamp set. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the sentiment just right. The final touch is the two gold brads set with my Mat Pack.

Thanks for visiting and hope you come back again soon! I worked hard to have a new post set to go live everyday while I am gone so hopefully technology is working!!

Hugs,
Elizabeth
